If you’ve ever visited Soul Play’s website before you probably remember this page (the blog) being the home page. Well, as you can tell if you’re reading this (by visiting the site, anyway – if you’ve got this feed in a reader, pop over to check out the changes to the site described below) you can tell that there have been some structural changes.

I moved the blog onto its own page, rather than the home page for a couple reasons. First, if someone’s searching for Soul Play or Terry, they’re probably interested in finding out what Soul Play is all about, so a home page that provides an overview and links to the other parts of the site that give greater detail make good user interest and interface sense. Also, to be completely honest, we haven’t been very good about posting anything with regularity, which makes a blog-as-homepage look bad!

But fear not, as we move through winter, Terry and I plan to launch several new items into the store (which will prompt some postings from me) as well as get into a regular reflection routine (once I teach Terry how to use the WordPress software that’s running this site!).

So, for now a more user friendly site structure and coming soon, more regular blog content to keep you coming back.

If you’d like to hear periodic updates from me about what CMR is up to or would like to receive the e-newsletters from one of the more specific lists (Memindia Previews and Soul Play News right now), you can do so through that sign up box. Of course, feel free to go crazy and subscribe to all of them!

If you signed up for Terry’s email newsletter on a product order form, then I will be adding you to the Constant Contact account as subscribed to the Soul Play News e-newsletter. If you’d like to receive news or product previews about other Catholic Media Resources work, you can do that by changing your profile preferences by clicking on the link to do so at the bottom of the first Soul Play News email. Terry and I should be putting that together within the next few weeks. And thanks for your patience!

It’s finally here! Soul Play’s website is up and running. As you can tell from even the most casual of browsing around, we’re just getting started.

First: who’s ‘we’? Well, Dr. Terry Nelson-Johnson created Soul Play LLC many years ago. To learn more about Terry and Soul Play visit the About Page. I am Jerry Harrington, Director of Catholic Media Resources. I’m partnering with Terry to provide production and marketing assistance to bring his work with Soul Play to a broader audience. This website is one of those efforts. You can learn more about me here.

Second, while the skeleton of this site is up and running, there’s a whole lot more meat to put on it! I have plans for pdf, audio, and video samples for the Samples Page. Terry will be posting regularly here on this blog homepage. We’ve so far established one product line (Running the Paschal Mystery) which will soon be expanded beyond the initial booklet, CD set, and DVD set offered. We hope to launch another product line as well as an online store to provide all our products for sale this fall.

Very soon, we will have an e-newsletter set up and a place here on the site to subscribe to it.

Bottom line: stay tuned as we continue this adventure, and in the spirit of Soul Play, have some fun along the way!
